Before sci-fi was everywhere, this pioneering magazine championed 'scientifiction'

The April 1926 issue of <em>Amazing Stories</em> hit newsstands in March of that year. The cover art by Frank R. Paul illustrated the Jules Verne tale "Off On a Comet."

The name didn't stick. The fan communities did.
