Biden meets Pope Francis to start his European tour

President Biden and first lady Jill Biden are greeted by the Head of the Papal Household Mons. Leonardo Sapienza, center, as they arrive for a meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican, on Friday.

Biden arrived at the Vatican around noon local time. The stop is one of several meetings with global leaders over the next week.
